Summary

The project @ctive Dialogue on Cultural Heritage for the Future Europe was a Network of Towns promoted by Comune di Villafranca Tirrena (IT), with the involvement of partners from IT, SK, EE, BG, ES, EL, LT, LV, GE, HR, MT, HU and RO.

The design idea was inspired by the priority relating to 2018: European Year of Cultural Heritage.

The aim of the project was to encourage the greatest number of citizens, especially young people, to discover and get involved in the cultural heritage of Europe, with the ICT and to strengthen the sense of belonging to a common European area. The motto of the 2018 European year was:"Our heritage: where the past meets the future".

Objectives of the project, in line with the priorities of Europe for Citizens program, has been to create a strong and long term transnational network open to the values of friendship, solidarity, intercultural dialogue and interaction between citizens with a bottom up approach to the European Agenda. The main topics were focused on the reasons why the EU wants to reach above citizens in order to reinforce in them the sense of belonging and to defeat Europhobic feelings towards the European institutions, also in view of the EP elections of 2019.

The project scheduled to the organization of 5 thematic meetings in 5 different European Countries. Each activities, using ICT tools, have been developed such as conferences, round table, case studies, question time, interactive workshop, project work and cultural visit, requires the active

participation of citizens with attention to youngster, experts, stakeholders, public administrations, cultural, social and economic actors, cultural heritage company, schools, university, citizens never involved in this kind of project. The program represented an opportunity for exchange of methodologies, interaction between representatives and citizens, in order to have cooperation in sustainable perspective and to ensure the widest possible public participation.

Short description: The aim of the event was to realize the Official opening and Presentation of the Networks of towns Futur@ project. It was scheduled a European Conferences with discussions and debates on the main topic inspired by the priority relating to 2018 "European Year of Cultural Heritage" and sub thematics as scheduled: "Digital cultural heritage" and "The cultural sector between ICT and Virtual heritage".

It was the first moment in which were presented and discussed the priorities, the activities, the objectives, the expected results of the project and the Europe for Citizens Program.

The event was an occasion to involve the participants and the local community with a feeling of friendship and conviviality rich in knowledge and intercultural exchanges between different geographical areas.

The first event, held in Villafranca Tirrena (Italy), was conducted thought Thematic Conferences, using ICT tools, round table, case studies, question time, interactive workshop, project work and cultural visit. Therefore, participants have been encouraged to exchange opinions and best practices with the aim to formulate new ideas and concrete future proposals. At the closure of the event there was a final Evaluation and group reflection in order to receive the feedback from the participants.

Case Studies: A bottom up approach on the state of the art of the use of ICT in European society. The Case Studies included topics related the conscious knowledge of the use of ICT in the fields of digitalization and online access to cultural material.

Location / Dates: The event took place in Szurdokpüspöki/Budapest (Hungary) Dates from 19 to 22 September 2019

Short description: The aim of the event was to discuss and debate during the European Conferences with discussions and debates on the main topic inspired by the priority relating to 2018 "European Year of Cultural Heritage" and sub thematic as scheduled: "ICT for Cultural Society"; "European Citizenship and Cultural Policies"; "Cultural Heritage - Tangible shapes" and "Untangible Cultural Heritage - the linguistic contamination in the European Region".

The four event, held in Szurdokpüspöki/Budapest (Hungary), was conducted thought Thematic Conferences, using ICT tools, round table, case studies, question time, interactive workshop, project work and cultural visit. It requires the active participation of citizens with attention to youngster, experts, stakeholders, public administrations, cultural, social and economic actors, cultural heritage company, schools, university, citizens never involved in this kind of project.

The aim was to encourage the greatest number of citizens, especially young people, to discover and get involved in the debate related European Cultural Heritage of Europe, with application of ICT and with the aim to strengthen the sense of belonging to a common European area.

The motto of the European year 2018 was:"Our heritage: where the past meets the future".

Objectives of the project, in line with the priorities of Europe for Citizens program was to create a strong and long term transnational network open to the values of friendship, solidarity, intercultural dialogue and interaction between citizens with a bottom up approach.

The activities scheduled fostered a sense of ownership of the EU policies and promoted active participation, to build a tighter-knit Europe, according to the principles of active citizenship and participatory democracy.

All participants were actively involved in the development of a constructive dialogue on the topics, creating open debates and discussions through moments of question time and non-formal activities. It was kept in constant consideration the principle of non-discrimination, with particular attention to the inclusion of difficult groups and disadvantaged people.

The program was an opportunity for exchange of methodologies, interaction between representatives and citizens, in order to have cooperation in sustainable perspective and to ensure the widest possible public participation.

Therefore, participants have been encouraged to exchange opinions and best practices with the aim to formulate new ideas and concrete future proposals. At the closure of the event there was a final Evaluation and group reflection in order to receive the feedback from the participants.
